What is an electric bike?
An e-bike or e-bike is a bicycle with electric power assistance. Bike support is evident once you activate the e-bike via the control panel and then pedal. This way you can progress more easily and faster than on a traditional bike.
How do e-bikes work?
Electric assistance on e-bikes works through various components. Motors, batteries and sensors play their biggest role here.
How fast can you ride an electric bike?
For e-bikes, you can choose one with a top speed of 25 km/h or 45 km/h. If you choose an e-bike that can reach speeds up to 45 km/h, then you have chosen a high-speed e-bike. Such bicycles fall under the same legislation as mopeds.

What is a Speed pedelec?
A speed pedelec is an electric bicycle that can reach a top speed of 45 km/h. Since January 2017, a speed pedelec has officially been a moped and is therefore subject to additional traffic regulations.
